Bush Foundation acts as a Champion for RuralX
The Bush Foundation invests in great ideas and the people who power them in communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the 23 Native nations that share the same geographic area. To date, the Foundation has invested more than one billion dollars in grants to thousands of organizations and individuals.
Dakota Resources is proud to be one of those organizations.
Through their Event Sponsorship program, the Bush Foundation sponsors events that inspire, equip and connect people to think bigger and differently and to lead more effectively. RuralX, a Dakota Resources event, is designed to bring rural leaders and shapers together to do just that.
“There are some real challenges in rural communities that require unique solutions,” explains Jen Ford Reedy, Bush Foundation President. “One size does not fit all. An event like ruralX brings people together from a variety of backgrounds to explore the possibilities together. It’s a great fit for our event sponsorship.”
The Bush Foundation has been a partner with Dakota Resources for years. The two organizations share a common mission of developing leaders, encouraging big ideas and supporting community innovation.
“We provide a lot of opportunities for people in rural communities,” says Jen. “We offer community innovation grants, event sponsorship funds, scholarships to events, and the Bush Fellowship program, among others.”
Jen will be one of the panelists speaking at ruralX this June and looks forward to participating in the event.
“Rural leadership can be tough. While there are forces out there beyond our control, I have seen some extraordinary examples of communities redefining and re-energizing themselves,” she says. “We are here to provide support for leaders working to make their communities better for everyone.”
