Interested in some pre-conference fun? Explore some real rural success stories with a road trip experience that allows you to explore hidden gems along major highways leading to Aberdeen on July 19 from 9 a.m. – 1p.m. These rural communities and Dakota Resources partners are truly “ruralizing their potential” in South Dakota. Choose your route and make a stop in Faulkton, Webster or Redfield for a guided tour that highlights some of our favorite rural successes while making your way to The RuralX Summit! You also have the opportunity to experience Blind Dining in Aberdeen for your lunch on Tuesday.

Pre-Conference registration is $20 for each event. A majority of the proceeds from registration will go to the sponsoring community organization.

We will send you to one of several favorite local establishments where you will enjoy lunch with a group of three other #ruralX Summit attendees from around the region. You can get to know each other before the summit begins!

RuralX Road Trip #1: Faulkton, Hwy. 212

 

Since working with Dakota Resources in 2010, Faulkton has seen a taxable sales increase of 51% (and steadily rising)! The community “believes in possible” and has seen significant building and growth in recent years, including the construction of a community center, a medical center, a retail center and a revitalized Main Street. The city is looking forward to new projects and buildings now under bid and continues to make anything possible. Registration is $20 – register now.

Redfield is currently experiencing housing revitalization thanks to projects designed to clean up dilapidated areas of town and replace them with high, moderate and low income housing developments.
