OTA is pleased to announce the official Small Town Premiere of “The Potluck Society: An OTA Journey,” which will be held at the Lyric Theater in Faulkton, SD, on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. The film will begin at 7:30 pm and is free to the public.

This film captures the spirit and stories of OTA, which celebrated and connected creatives and community builders throughout Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota from 2009-2016.

OTA began with the simple idea that the people of the region were worthy of celebrating. If we could bring them together, connect them and celebrate them by sharing their work with the world, extraordinary things could happen,” said OTA founder, Hugh Weber. “I believe that small towns, rich with stories, culture and creativity – are unique in their ability to create solutions and expand possibility as a community. Faulkton embodies this spirit and I’m overjoyed to have this be our first – of many! – small town screenings.”

As OTA begins the next chapter, the film follows Hugh as he spends a week on the road reconnecting with people and places that were significant to the OTA journey, finding stories of creative risk, rich community conversations and giant expressions of creativity along the way. The film runs 90 minutes long and will be screened with a group conversation to follow.

The film is directed by Milbank, SD native Christian Jensen, and produced by his creative partner Kylee Leonetti. Kylee and Christian own a Minneapolis-based film & production company called Kylee and Christian Creative.
