Aside from her participation with Dakota Rising, Cindy Turner is also a Consultant for the Southern Hills Economic Development Corporation. Southern Hills Economic Development Corporation (SHEDCO) was formed in 2012 to promote economic interest, development, and improvement of the quality of life in the county of Fall River, South Dakota.
SHEDCO actively pursues economic development by assisting existing, new and expanding business and industry within Fall River County as well as working closely with the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and other area organizations that hold common interests. Mention the phrase “economic development” on Main Street in most communities and people may assume you’re talking about relocating a technology company from a metropolitan suburb to a shiny new spec building. But there’s a more vital aspect of economic development, one that is always the best source of new jobs and community growth. It’s the growth and expansion of companies already existing in our community.
