Citi Community Development Supports RuralX

Citi Community Development is engaged in communities across the country supporting economic development. The corporate group works to support underserved individuals and families and seeks collaborative partnerships with organizations like Dakota Resources to help make an impact.
“Citi has had a solid relationship with Dakota Resources for more than ten years and we value their partnership,” explains Ruth Christopherson, Senior Vice President of Citi Community Development. “They are doing great things for our rural communities and through our support of Dakota Resources, I have seen firsthand how one organization in a small community can make a difference.”
Ruth has attended RuralX the past three years and is excited about the direction the event is taking, citing that the OpenX portion of the two-day conference is her favorite experience.
“I like watching discussions come to life among a diverse group of people,” she says.
OpenX is where breakout topics are created “on the fly” by the people attending the event. In the past, many of these topics have evolved into actual projects and events, including rural management training sessions in Wall and Wagner, the Northeast Women’s Business Conference in Aberdeen and a youth-led pop-up shop event in Miller.
RuralX will be held June 19 and 20 in Mitchell SD at Mitchell Wesleyan Church. To find more information about speakers, agenda and registration, visit www.ruralx.org or contact tyrelle@dakotaresources.org.
